AECP Level 2: In The Mood For Color

Happy Monday crafty friends! I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend, and the ability to celebrate with your family and friends. For my husband and I we celebrated on our balcony watching the fireworks and enjoying our independence.

I'm back today with another card for my Altenew Level 2 Educator Certification. In the video In The Mood for Color by Stephanie Klauck I learned how color can create the mood or tone for the card. I chose pink for my card today, which represents sensitive, caring, and sweet according to the video. Who wouldn't want to represent sweetness and caring? Grab a cup of coffee, and lets get started. I'm so excited you are here!

This is a simple A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") using Neenah Solar White Card Stock, I used Altenew Tie Dye Motifs and Altenew Mega Greetings Stamp Set to make my card. The front card panel has been stamped using Altenew Crisp Ink Colors: Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, and Frosty Pink.

Card Instructions

  • Stamp the images over the card panel randomly starting with the lightest color ink, using the darkest color last.

  • Use your Aligning tool and place the sentiment where you would like it to be stamped, and stamp the image using the ink color that suits you. I chose black because it stands out from the card. I had to stamp several layers of black ink down to cover the pink stamped motifs in the background.

  • Use double-sided tape and adhere ribbon down on your card, cutting a piece to tie around to knot.

  • Heat emboss the rest of your sentiment using card stock and adhere to the card panel using foam tape.

  • Adhere foam tape to the back of the card panel and attach it to your card tent.

Tips & Tricks.

  • Start with your lightest ink color to avoid ink contamination

  • Choose a stamp image that can be randomly placed and looks good layered

  • Don't forget to use an anti-static tool on your card stock before heat embossing.
