Less is More

Good Morning all of my crafty peeps! I hope this post finds you warm, cozy, and safe at home with you loved ones. Today I am submitting another submission for the AECP taking one step closer to obtaining my Altenew certification.

My Clean and Simple Boutique style card features a stamp from the Altenew Wild & Free Stamp set, and the sentiment used is from the Altenew Darling Little Rose Stamp Set. I often struggle with the CAS (Clean and simple) style because I want to add all of the bling!

For this card I followed the lead from Jennifer Rzasa and decided to use some of the techniques she displayed in her Clean and Simple Botique Cards Video. My favorite technique offered is using my paper cutter to score lines, adding just a touch of something more for the appearance of the card.

I started with a piece of white cardstock cut 5.5" x 4.25" and stamped the flower image in the center of the paper, creating a pattern. Next, I cut squares 2.25" x 2.5" to place in the center of the card.

To add a simple splash of color to the flowers I used Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Glaze. and used foam tape to adhere it to a mat I cut using white cardstock measuring 2.5" x 2.75".

I cut a strip of black cardstock 1" x 4" and used my scoring blade to score a line every 1/4" to create additional dimension to my card, and adhered it to the base of my card. I used a sentiment from the Darling Little Rose stamp set.
