Let's Hear It For the Boys

Updated: Apr 18, 2021

Hello friends! Do you struggle with masculine cards? As a mother of only sons, I should not; but I do! My oldest son refused to pass out his 18th birthday party invitations because he claimed they looked "too girly".

If you struggle with this like I do, you absolutely need to hop on over to Altenew.com and take the For The Guys video! This course is jam-packed full of new inspiration and ideas for your masculine cards. Jennifer is amazing and her card designs are stunning (for a guy card that is). I am working hard to complete the course to obtain my AECP certification, and I hope you enjoy today's card. All of the supplies I used to make this card are listed below for your convenience.

Without further ado, Let's get started. All of the men in my life love the outdoors, so I was immediately drawn to the Alttenew Camping Life stamp and die set for my card design. I decided to make a starry night by spraying some Tim Holtz Distress Resist Ink to make a ton of stars in the sky.

Once the resist spray has dried you will start blending ink for the night sky. You can use any colors you would like doing this. I used Altenew Crisp Dye Ink Sweet Leaf, Aqualicious, Fresh Lemon, and Permanent Black for the sky. Once the sky was completed I adhered it to my card base.

Next, I stamped the fire image on some cardstock and grabbed my Copic Markers. Once I was done coloring the fire, I used some craft foam tape to add some dimension to my card.

The sentiment is also from the Camping Life Stamp Set.

This card was extremely simple to design, and I love the outcome. It does not look to "girly" as my son would say, and I feel confident sending it to him in the mail with a special greeting from mom inside.

Thank you for stopping by today. Below you will find the supplies I used to design this card. I get a small commission if you use the links at no cost to you ever. Your support is much appreciated.
