Let It Sparkle

Hello Everyone! I am so excited to be with you today. I am sharing my submission for the AECP Let it Shine Course. This course if filled with different ways to add a little sparkle to your paper crafts. There are so many different ways to achieve sparkle, and I enjoyed the course.

To start I cut a piece of Ivory cardstock from my stash to create a tent card base. Next, I cut a piece of Dark Blue cardstock 4 in. x 5 1/4 in for the background. I used my scor buddy and added some score lines at the 1/4 " mark on each end. Once I scored each end, I used an Embossing Pen and drew a straight line across each end 1/8" above the score line and added WOW Silver embossing powder.

To add a little bit more dimension to this card front, I ran my Altenew Rows of Squares 3D embossing folder through my die cutter with a piece of ivory cardstock cut 4" x 3 1/2".

I stamped the Altenew Fairy Tale Floral Stamp and embossed it with Altenew White embossing powder.

I grabbed metallic water colors and added some more bling to the flower petals. The Altenew Detail water-coloring brushes really worked well for getting into the small spaces within the flower, and made the process so much easier.

After the paint dried, I applied some double sided foam adhesive to the back of the flowers, and placed it on the embossed paper. For the sentiment I used Altenew Sentiment Strip 2 "You Are So Loved" Sentiment and embossed it with white embossing powder. For the final touch of sparkle, I added a small piece of silver metallic thread under the sentiment, and glued some white sequin down I had in my sparkle stash. I also trimmed the leaves to fit the card base on the side.

I had so much fun making this card. Have you tried any metallic water colors? I think I may have found a new favorite way of adding color. Please let me know what you think, or upload your creations using metallic water colors.

Below you will find affiliate links with the supplies I used in crafting this card. I may receive a small commission when you click on the link, and there is never a charge to you. Thank you for your support to my blog.
