MFT Stamps Heart Burst Hellos Card Kit Floating Heart Mini-Slimline Card

Updated: May 2, 2021

Happy Tuesday fellow crafty peeps! I hope today has served you all well, and you have plenty of time to sit back and grab your blending brushes. I am so excited to share this card with you that I made using the new MFT Stamps Heart Burst Hellos Card Kit. I love hearts, and especially pink sparkly hearts! I have also been obsessed with making all of my elements float lately, but I think it is so pretty.

So to start I used a piece of 80# Neenah Classic Solar White Cardstock 3 1/2" x 6" for the card tent, and for the front panel I used a piece 3 1/4" x 5 3/4".

The background was made by blending Distress Oxide inks over a sprayed layer of Tim Holtz's distress resist spray. The spray leaves a nice solid film over the paper that resists the ink and adds just a little bit of texture to your background.

The distress oxide inks I used for the background are Seedless Preserves, Milled Lavender, Spun Sugar, and I added a little bit of Black Soot on top of the Seedless Preserves and at the bottom corners of the card.

Once the background was created, I grabbed my WOW embossing powder in Pink Taffeta and my Versamark Ink pad, and generously covered a small piece of left over card-stock (big enough to hold the multi cut heart die) with my embossing powder. I set the powder a heating tool and allowed the pieces to cool off.

Next, I arranged all of the embossed pieces back into the frame of the heart and used Glad Press-N-Seal paper to grab the front of the heart, and placed foam tape on all of the pieces so they will float on the card background.

Once the heart was in place, I die-cut the MFT stamps "Hey" die in black card stock, and stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink, and embossed it with white embossing powder. I added some black crystal bling I had laying in my bling box, and adhered the front of the card to the card tent with foam tape, because you can never have too much dimension.

I would love to hear what you think about this card, and also see some of the designs you have come up with using this card kit! Make sure to leave a comment so I know you stopped by. It's always a pleasure to visit with you. I look forward to seeing you soon!
